The history of the Black Forest cherry begins in the orchards of the picturesque Black Forest. The Black Forest cherry's journey from tree to high-quality distillate is a craft that has been perfected over the years.
In many places, the ripe fruit is still carefully harvested by hand to ensure the highest quality. In the 18th century, they found their way into the famous Black Forest gateau, which quickly became a regional specialty.
After fermentation, the fascinating process of distillation begins. In the traditional Black Forest distilleries, the cherry mash is distilled in copper kettles. Skilled craftsmanship and the use of centuries-old techniques produce a high-quality cherry distillate.
The result of this gentle process is a distillate of incomparable quality. The intense cherry flavour, the harmonious combination of sweetness and spice and the velvety finish characterize Black Forest kirsch. This fine spirit has long since won the hearts of connoisseurs all over the world.
The history of the Black Forest kirsch is not only a culinary journey, but also an ode to tradition and craftsmanship in the Black Forest. From the tree to the distillery, it tells of a love of nature and perfection. The fine distillate made from Black Forest kirsch is a testament to the mastery and dedication of the distillers, who have turned a regional delicacy into an internationally prized luxury drink.
Our Black Forest kirsch is a real gem from the heart of the Black Forest.
The careful and gentle double distillation and special maturation in traditional clay barrels give this fine drop its incomparable quality. Our cherry brandy is then reduced to a harmonious 42% vol. with the best Black Forest mountain water, which naturally has only 1 °dH.
The kirsch is then bottled in a dark stoneware bottle (produced in the Westerwald) for further maturation. The microporous structure of the stoneware allows the distillate to breathe and develop further in exchange with the surrounding air.
Enjoy the pure taste of the Black Forest - a treat for connoisseurs!
